Fawkes Hub Installation Troubleshooting Guide

For all Fawkes Games (powered by Xsolla)

This is not an official guide, but a collection of community-reported solutions for common installation issues with the Fawkes Hub and its supported games.

Clean Install Steps (Reinstallation)

  1. Remove previous or conflicting installations

    • Open the Control Panel and go to Programs > Uninstall a program.

    • Look for and uninstall any previous versions of:

      • Fawkes Hub

  2. Clear leftover files

    • In File Explorer, type %appdata% in the address bar.

    • Check and delete Fawkes Hub folders found under:

      • Local

      • LocalLow

      • Roaming

    • If you previously installed a game to the default location, check there and delete any remaining game folders.

  3. Reboot your PC

    • This is very important, especially after uninstalling previous programs.

  4. Temporarily disable your antivirus

    • Antivirus software can interfere with the launcher or download process.

  5. Download the Hub from the official website

  6. Run the installer as Administrator

    • Do not launch the installer directly from your browser’s download bar.

    • Instead, locate fawkeshub.exe in your Downloads folder, right-click it, and select Run as Administrator.

  7. Install your selected game via the Hub

    • After installation, launch the Fawkes Hub.

    • Select the game you want from the side menu and click INSTALL.

    • Follow any additional prompts to begin downloading and installing the game.

❗Fixing "Update Failed" Errors (DNS Issue)

If you see messages like “update failed” during installation or patching, your network may not be resolving the update servers correctly. This is often a DNS issue and can be resolved as follows:

? For Windows (Control Panel Method)

  1. Open the Search bar and type Control Panel.

  2. Go to Network and Sharing Center.

  3. Click your active network connection.

  4. Select Properties.

  5. Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click Properties.

  6. Choose Use the following DNS server addresses:

    • Preferred: 8.8.8.8

    • Alternate: 8.8.4.4 (Google Public DNS)

  7. Click OK and Apply to save.

?️ For Windows 11 (Settings Method)

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Go to Network & Internet.

  3. Click Edit next to the DNS settings.

  4. Set to Manual and enable IPv4.

  5. Enter:

    • DNS: 8.8.8.8

    • Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4

  6. Save the changes.
